Charitable giving that can be checked

E-Sadaqah exists to make the obligations of Islamic giving straightforward to discharge and simple to verify — so that giving well does not depend on knowing someone who can vouch for where the money went.

What we are trying to do

Most giving platforms treat every donation as the same transaction with a different label. Islamic giving is not like that. Zakat may only reach certain recipients. Fidya is counted in days, not naira. Zakat al-Fitr has a deadline measured in hours. Waqf is meant to be kept rather than spent.

Treating those differences as a styling problem is how money ends up in the wrong place. This platform treats them as the actual requirement: each kind of giving has its own fund, its own way of being worked out, and its own limits on where it can go.

What we hold ourselves to

These are not aspirations. Each one is enforced by the system rather than by a promise.

  • A fund is never borrowed from

Money given as Zakat cannot be spent on something Zakat may not fund, even temporarily. The accounts will not allow it.

  • Two people, not one

Money leaving a fund is started by one person and approved by a different one. Nobody can do both halves of the same payment.

  • A record that cannot be rewritten

Decisions are written to a trail that can be checked for tampering. Corrections are made by adding an entry, never by editing history.

  • Religious rules are approved before use

The basis of a Zakat calculation is reviewed and signed off before it can be applied to anybody's wealth, and each calculation records which version it used.

Questions about how this works?

If something here is unclear, or you want to know more before you give, please ask. We would rather answer than have you guess.
